The Arts Councils Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award 2013: Arts and Cultural Diversity aims to support individual professional artists in any artform working in the field of arts and cultural diversity. This is the fourth year that the Arts Council has provided a €10,000 bursary award as part of the Artist in the Community Scheme, which is managed by Create.
Purpose and priorities of the award
The purpose of the bursary award is to support and nurture professional arts practice and it is specifically aimed at an artist who has worked collaboratively in the context of cultural diversity.
The award of €10,000 provides the selected artist with the time and resources to research, reflect upon and re-consider arts practice realised in culturally diverse contexts.
