Purpose of the award
The Young
People, Children and Education Bursary Award supports the professional
development of artists by enabling them to spend time developing their
practice. The award is specifically focussed on helping artists to improve
their capacity to develop or present high-quality arts experiences with or for
children and young people. It is open to individual artists and
practitioners working in a creative capacity in any artform, including arts
facilitators, curators or programmers.
Please make sure to
read the Guidelines in full.
In addition, a recording of a webinar session recorded for
the YPCE Bursary Award 2020, Round 2, is available for potential applicants.
While most of the information is still the same for the 2021 Round 1 Bursary,
the following should be noted:
Application Closing Date: The webinar
below was for the 2020 YPCE Bursary. The closing date for the Round 1 2021 YPCE
Bursary is 17:30, Thursday 28 January 2021.
Budget: For this round of funding,
applicants can only apply for one of three bands of funding, €10,000 / €15,000
/ €20,000. You must apply for one of these figures exactly. If you apply
for a figure that does not match one of these and you are successful, you may
be offered the next lower amount. Please note that your application will be deemed
ineligible if you apply for more than the maximum amount stated above (€20,000).
Time Frame: as noted in the guidelines,
it may take up to 12 weeks from closing date to decisions being issued. Applicants
should schedule the start of their proposed bursary period and activities for
which funding is requested with this in mind.
You can view the full 1.5 hour
