The Arts Council has extended its congratulations to Irish writers Anna Burns, Sally Rooney and Donal Ryan on the news that their novels have been longlisted for the 2018 Man Booker Prize.
Speaking about the news, Arts Council Director Orlaith McBride said: "We are living in an extraordinarily exciting time for Irish fiction. The three Irish writers on the longlist are all breaking new ground, and to see their names among the 13 contenders, in the year in which the highest ever number of submissions was received, is nothing short of marvelous."
