The Arts Council today extended its congratulations to Irish filmmaker Pat Collins on the news that his new film, Henry Glassie: Field Work, is set to receive its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival this September.
An enthralling chronicle of celebrated American folklorist Henry Glassie, the film has been produced by South Wind Blows with funding support from the Arts Council and Screen Ireland. It will screen as part of the festival’s Contemporary World Cinema strand.
Speaking about the announcement, Arts Council Director Orlaith McBride said:
“We are delighted to congratulate Pat Collins on his film’s selection for the highly regarded Toronto International Film Festival. The Arts Council is proud to support the film under our Open Call scheme and we look forward to seeing it reach both Irish and international audiences following its premiere in Toronto.”
