The Arts Council has expressed its regret at the passing of broadcaster and former Chairman Brian Farrell.
He served as Chairman of the Arts Council for two years, from 1998 to 2000.
Speaking today, Sheila Pratschke, Chair of the Arts Council said: “Brian Farrell was a tireless advocate for the arts. His period as Chairman brought a new dynamism and was marked by, amongst other initiatives the inauguration of the Ireland Chair of Poetry and the creation of a new fund with Téilifís na Gaeilge to support innovative programmes on the arts.”
On behalf of the Arts Council and everyone involved in the arts I offer my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
