The film Dreamtime
Revisited by directors Dónal Ó Céilleachair and Julius Ziz, which was made
under the Arts Council's Reel Art scheme, will be presented with the 2012/2013
Michael Dwyer Award by Access Cinema on 27 September.
Dreamtime
Revisited is inspired by the works of writer, poet and philosopher John
Moriarty. It is an observational film that mirrors John Moriarty's gaze upon the
face of contemporary and historical Ireland. It weaves together contemporary and
archive material as well as featuring excerpts from some of Moriarty’s key
work.
Access Cinema's Michael Dwyer award recognises the Irish film or
films that have made the most impact on the Access Cinema circuit in the past
year and honours the late film critic Michael Dwyer. Dreamtime
Revisited shares this year's award with the feature film Stella
Days.
The Arts Council's Reel
Art scheme supports film artists to make highly creative documentaries on an
artistic theme and is operated in partnership with Filmbase and the Jameson
Dublin International Film Festival.
