Martina Moloney was a career official in Irish local government where she worked for 37 years, including 11 years as County Manager/Chief Executive. Part of her remit involved, at various times, overseeing the development and implementation of the arts plans and programmes in a number of councils. She has a strong interest and appreciation for the importance of arts in the community, from the Islands and rural communities to the larger urban centres. She also has had experience in working with various stakeholders, both community and statutory, to enhance the arts offering in the county. She was instrumental in assuring that the arts were integrated into various county strategies, such as the economic, social and cultural strategies and the age-friendly county strategy.
She has had experience on a number of boards, which together with her academic qualifications, gives her a strong appreciation for the requirements of good corporate governance.
