New funding programmes

Over the three years 2006, 2007 and 2008, we will establish - on a phased basis - new funding programmes. As these programmes are introduced, we will invite you to come and talk to us about your ideas, about how our funding programmes might assist you, and about how you can, in turn, help in achieving these goals.

Who should read this?

You are an architect, who wishes to develop the artistic elements of your work, in particular through time to develop artistic ideas throughresearch, travel and study.

You are working in or with a resource organisation that supports architecture and:

  • offers services promoting high standards in the artistic and aesthetic quality ofarchitecture;
  • publishes and provides web-based resources to support artistic practice within architecture.

You are working in or with a festival, venue or production company with an interest in architecture as an artistic practice, particularly if your organisation:

  • has ambitions to offer high-quality programmes that reflect architecture as an artistic practice;
  • can contribute to developing andsustaining audiences;
  • can enhance understanding and appreciation of architecture.

You have ideas for an architecture project, in particular a project that would allow architects to collaborate with artists of other disciplines.

Initiatives

Over the next three years - 2006, 2007 and 2008 - we will take initiatives in architecture, based on working closely with individuals and organisations with ideas and achievements in these areas. These initiatives will be introduced on a phased basis.

As we make progress, we will invite you to discuss with us ways in whichyou might assist us to:

  • Develop advisory and other support services on best practice design for arts buildings;
  • Establish a programme of seminars in schools of architecture to promote understanding ofother artforms;
  • Plan for and support the Venice Biennale in 2006 and 2008 (a joint project with CultureIreland);
  • Establish a Centre for Architecture, with a national remit to strengthen Ireland’s visual culture and enhance public understanding ofthe artistic nature of architecture;
  • Establish a programme to offer practical and advisory supports that will assist in achieving high architectural and professional standards across the range of our building-based funded activities.
