The Arts Council has welcomed the announcement today of the transfer from Allied Irish Banks to the State of thirty-nine pieces of its significant art collection.
Speaking today Pat Moylan, Chairman of the Arts Council said, "It is an important dividend to the State and it will make this collection more accessible to the public than ever before. The AIB art collection is a truly wonderful asset for the State with invaluable works of national and international importance. Having part of the collection at the Crawford art gallery is of major significance and will give regional equality to the national collection."
