Ciarán Walsh is a graduate of Communications Studies from Dublin City University and since his first professional job as Stage Manager with Opera Theatre Company, has been involved in the performing arts for nearly 20 years.
He has been General Manager of the Dublin Theatre Festival and Managing Director of Druid Theatre Company. Since 2001, he has worked with Abhann Productions as Line Producer on Riverdance and continues to work with the production on a consulting basis. From 2005 to 2010, he was a Director of Long Road Productions managing and producing various large-scale theatre productions and events. In 2010, he produced, with b*spoke Theatre Company, the London premiere and national tour of Tom Murphy’s The Sanctuary Lamp directed by the author.
Amongst other projects, he currently works with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, curating and managing the cultural programme of Presidential visits abroad. He was Chair of Irish Theatre Magazine from 2001 to 2004 and most recently served on the Board of Macnas.
