As part of its ongoing partnership with the Clore Leadership Programme, the Arts Council is pleased to announce that it will provide bursaries for up to five places on the Clore Leadership Short Courses in 2012.
The Arts Council this morning welcomed the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins to its offices at Merrion Square, Dublin, as guest of honour at an event to mark its sixtieth year.
Audiences all over the country will have an opportunity in 2012 to enjoy some of the best in literature, visual arts, dance, film, theatre, music, traditional arts, street arts and circus, participatory arts and activity specifically for young people, with 33 arts organisations and individual artists receiving funding from the Arts Council to specifically tour work in Ireland to venues nationwide.
The Arts Council has expressed its regret at the passing of poet and Aosdána member Pearse Hutchinson, who died on Saturday 14 January 2012.

A report on the economic impact of the arts in Ireland, launched this morning (16 November 2011) by Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, shows that the arts provide significant direct and indirect employment, with Arts Council's annual funding from the Exchequer supporting over 2,600 jobs
The Arts Council is reminding arts organisations of the deadline for applications under its three main grant programmes: Regularly Funded Organisations, Annual Programming Grants and Annual Funding. This relates to applications seeking funding for the period April 2012 - March 2013.
