The Arts Council has today published a report, Irish Arts Sector, Private Investment Report, which identifies and analyses the level of annual private investment received by Arts Council-funded organisations. The report takes 2012 as its fixed point, making it a useful tool for measuring progress in the area in the years ahead.
The Arts Council wishes to procure the services of a number of Arts Advisers to meet the needs of the organisation both from a quality and service delivery perspective. The artform areas to which this relates are: Arts Participation; Dance; Irish Language Literature; English Language Literature; Visual Arts; Young People Children and Education. Each contract will be offered separately.
The Arts Council is currently developing a comprehensive Policy for its Art Collection in line with best practice. It is now seeking a consultant to assist in this process. The services sought relate to both the initial research and development phase and the subsequent delivery of a formal, written policy developed with the Visual Arts Team. Following the success of Richard Mosse’s visual art exhibition The Enclave when it was shown in the RHA Gallery in Dublin as part of an Arts Council Irish tour, the Arts Council, in association with Limerick City of Culture, will show The Enclave at Ormston House and 6a Rutland Street, Limerick from March 28th until May 5th.

Under a new joint initiative by the arts councils in Ireland and Northern Ireland, North South touring is set to increase. Further to an effort by the the Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) to work together to process North South touring applications and make joint funding decisions, it was announced today that 10 successful applications would receive grants totalling €285,000.
The Arts Council has expressed its deep regret at the passing of Aosdána member Barrie Cooke who has died.
Patrick Scott was appointed a Saoi of Aosdána in July 2007, where he was presented with a gold Torc by the then President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
