04 April 2011: Arts Council seeks a Director

The Arts Council is the Irish government agency for developing and promoting the arts. It works in partnership with artists, arts organisations, public policy makers and others to build a central place for the arts in Irish life.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Arts Council, the Director is the Chief Executive and has responsibility for both the leadership and management of the organisation; proposing and gaining support for new strategies as well as delivering its mission, which is governed by a combination of statutory requirements, Government and Council policy.

The closing date for applications is the 29 April 2011.
