17 January 2008: Arts Council offers congratulations on BAFTA nomination

The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon extends its congratulations John McCloskey, director of the short film The Crumblegiant which has been nominated for a British Academy Film Award (BAFTA) for Best Short Animation.

Produced by Pearse Moore of Raw Nerve Productions, The Crumblegiant was made as part of the Frameworks animated short film scheme, which is funded by the Arts Council along with the Irish Film Board and RTE.

Mary Cloake, Director of the Arts Council said: "This is a wonderful achievement for John, Pearse and their team. Once again Irish animators are to be seen at the forefront of innovation and storytelling." 

The BAFTA awards will be presented at a televised ceremony in London on February 10th.
