The Arts Council is pleased to announce funding for the first round of Projects: New Work, Projects: Once-off, and Commissions for 2007.
The Projects: Once-off Award is a new funding programme launched by the Arts Council in 2006 as part of the implementation of Partnership for the Arts. It seeks to provide support to individual artists and organisations to carry out stand-alone projects in a flexible and responsive manner. For the first round of Projects: Once-off, the Arts Council received 100 applications. The Arts Council has offered funding to 35 applicants totalling €898,000.
The Projects: New Work Award, which seeks to encourage experimentation and collaboration, attracted 101 applications. The Arts Council has offered funding to 18 applicants totaling €438,479.
Proposals for new commissions were received from 48 applicants. The Commissions Award is designed to encourage creative partnerships between a diverse range of commissioners and artists. The Arts Council will fund 27 commission proposals totaling €170,000.

We are continuously improving our funding opportunities and these awards will assist artists and organisations in realising exceptionally imaginative ideas and projects."
