12 June 2008: Arts Council releases invitations to tender to develop dynamic new Public Art website

The Arts Council is seeking tenders for the development and management of a dynamic new website and archive resource that will promote excellence and innovation for those working in the public art arena.

The website will provide and generate practical advice, resources and information for anyone wishing to undertake commissions. It will reflect the diversity of arts practices and generate discourse on topical issues as well as providing best practice approaches to commissioning.

Speaking about the new website, Arts Council Director, Mary Cloake said: "This is a very significant development for public art practice in Ireland, and is a most important channel through which we can support our strategic objectives."

The invitations to tender are available to download from the eTenders Public Procurement website. The closing date for receipt of tenders is 12 noon on Tuesday 8 July.

To download the invitations to tender, you must be registered with the eTenders website. To register with the site, go to: http://www.e-tenders.gov.ie/register/register_start.aspx.
