The newly-appointed Chair and fourth holder of the post, Michael Longley, was also in attendance. Nobel Laureate, Seamus Heaney, wrote the book’s forward.
The Ireland Chair of Poetry was established by the Arts Council, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Trinity College, Dublin, Queen’s University, Belfast and University College, Dublin to celebrate the exceptional contribution of Irish poets to the world of literature.
Speaking at the event, Olive Braiden, Chair of the Arts Council said: "The Ireland Chair of Poetry has now fully established itself as a central part of this country's literary life, and it is therefore very timely to celebrate its first nine years with this splendid publication from Lilliput Press. On behalf of the Arts Council, I have much pleasure in wishing the book every success."
