27 April 2007: ‘Turas / Journey’ - Arts Councils launch north - south traditional arts funding programme

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland and The Arts Council - An Chomhairle Ealaíon today (27th April) launched ‘Turas’ (Journey), a joint pilot Traditional Arts funding programme. The programme, which is intended to support and recognise the value of the Traditional Arts around the island of Ireland, was launched at the Foyle Arts Building, Magee College, University of Ulster, Derry.


19 April 2007: Arts Council announces second group of organisations to participate in the touring experiment

€1.2 millions has now been offered to a further twenty-six companies and individual artists in six art forms.


28 March 2007: Aosdána elects 15 new members including, for the first time, choreographers.

Aosdána, the affiliation of creative artists engaged in literature, visual arts, architecture and as from today-choreography. Aosdána elected 15 new members at its General Assembly in Royal Hospital Kilmainham today Wednesday (28 March 2007).
