Purpose of the award

The purpose of the award is to support professional artists to develop their art practice. It provides artists with the time and resources to think, research, reflect and critically engage with their art.

Guidelines will be available in early May 2014.

Please note: individuals who were awarded a Literature Bursary in 2013 or individuals awarded a two-year or three-year bursary in 2012 or 2011 respectively will not be eligible to apply. An applicant who submits to this funding round will not be eligible to apply again for a Literature Bursary Award in the subsequent round in 2014.

Online services

The Arts Council has an online services website. All applications must be submitted through the online services website. You can upload a wide range of support materials in electronic format (up to 40 MB in total) along with your application form.
