The Deis recording award provides support for traditional arts recording projects, or recording projects involving collaboration between traditional arts and other artforms. There were 66 applications with 28 awards to the value of €90,100

To collect, edit and transcribe 20 sean-nós songs of Labhrás Mac Síthigh which were recorded in the early years of Raidió na Gaeltachta. To publish the collection as a CD along with transcribed lyrics as well as the notes pertaining to the sources.

To record a CD of Irish traditional music and song from the north-west Donegal gaeltacht by Na Mooney's. They started playing in their teens with Ceoltóirí Altan in the 70s and Mairéad, Gearóid and Anna will be joined by Ciarán to record their music together on CD for the first time.

To record the debut album of The Gloaming. Martin Hayes, Iarla O'Lionaird, Dennis Cahill, Caoimhin O'Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett came together to form The Gloaming in 2011. The band toured successfully garnering positive press and audiences.

To record an instructional DVD for sean-nós dancing designed for dancers at intermediate level and above. A set of jig steps and a set of reel steps will be taught, with musical accompaniment played at three different speeds. This will be a follow-up to a previous DVD for beginners.

The National Folklore Collection / Cnuasach Bhéaloideas Éireann

Due to previous funding from a Deis Recording Award in 2010 the applicant has digitised and re-mastered the entire collection of the fiddle music of Mickey Doherty recorded by the Irish Folklore Commission. To publish this material in CD and booklet form.

The Nest Collective

A one-week song-collecting journey to survey traditional songs, knowledge and lore extant amongst Irish Travellers within the UK and Ireland. Material collected will populate a new website offering both family musical portraits and a repository of songs for wider culture and academic awareness.

The Tin Sandwich Project

This Tin Sandwich Project is a group of musicians including John and Pip Murphy, Benny McCarthy and Donal Clancy. The recording will be based around mouth organ, melodeon, guitar and vocals. Tin sandwich is a nickname for Harmonica, hence the name.
