To further the development and ambition of the Clonmel Junction Festival Choir with workshops throughout the commissioning process. To perform the finished piece at the Clonmel Junction Festival in 2015.

Contempo Quartet Partnership

To commission Ian Wilson to write an innovative work to celebrate 10 years of the Contempo Quartet Partnership as Galway’s Ensemble-in-Residence. This will be the first piece for string quartet incorporating Boss RC-300 loopstation. The work will be inspired by the story of the ‘Tribes’ of Galway and will be performed in the 2013/14 season.

Cork International Choral Festival and the National Chamber Choir to commission a choral work by David Fennessy. It will be premiered at the 2014 Cork International Choral Festival and subsequently examined at the Seminar on New Choral Music.

To commission composer Linda Buckley to write a new contemporary music work. To premiere the work at the Cork Midsummer Festival 2014, performed by Crash Ensemble. To incorporate the work into Crash's repertoire for future international performance, promoting Linda Buckley and contemporary Irish music.

To commission a new suite of music to be premiered at the Hawk’s Well Theatre during the Sligo Jazz Project in July 2013. To use Sligo’s megalithic wonders of landscape as inspiration for the piece. To develop a creative and meaningful blend of poetry and folk music with jazz within the piece.

Music for Galway

To commission Jane O'Leary to write a piece for solo piano, as a gesture to mark her outstanding contribution to Galway's musical life. The piece will be approximately seven to eight minutes long and will be premiered by Ah Ruem Ahn, prize-winner of the Santander International Piano Competition.

Quatuor Bozzini

To commission a new work for string quartet with digital audio playback and live electronics. The 14-minute creation uses collaboration as the main compositional tool. It combines traditional notation, electroacoustics, and live electronics, to create tiers of interactive, flexible material. The performance is thus conceived in real-time, extending the roles of both composer and performers.
