Ardán
Ardán at the National Ploughing Championships will bring the very best of Irish culture to the vast population who travel nationally and internationally to the event each year. The Arts Council in association with Creative Ireland and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will present a variety of work from across the country including Belfast, Cavan, Cork, Dublin, Donegal, Galway, Limerick, Offaly, Sligo and Waterford. This will be the first time that a dedicated arts space will present work at this hugely significant national event.
Artists and guests include PJ Lynch, Laureate na nÓg; Margaret McAuliffe and Fishamble Theatre Company, singer songwriter Lisa O’Neill; dual Camogie and ladies football player Briege Corkery; hurler and hurling pundit John Mullane; Graffiti Theatre Company; storyteller Len Graham; uileann piper Maitiú Ó Casaide; Laureate for Irish Fiction Anne Enright; singers Maighread and Triona Ní Dhomhnaill; Branar Téatar do Pháistí; sean-nós singer Eoin Warner; author Kevin Barry and local musician Attracta Brady. There will be 13 events taking place over the three-day festival. To accommodate frequent footfall and busy schedules for audience members all events are free and run for 25–30 minutes
