The Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of novelist Danny Denton as Writer-in-Residence at University College Cork. The Writer-in-Residence role is jointly funded by the Arts Council and UCC.
The Arts Council has a long-standing partnership with a number of Irish universities offering Writer-in-Residence/Fellowship positions to provide university students of Creative Writing MA and MFA programmes with an opportunity to work with and learn from a professional author of distinction, and to enable writers to develop their work while in a position of relative financial stability.

Biography
Danny Denton is a writer from Cork. His first novel,The Earlie King & The Kid In Yellow was published by Granta Books in 2018, and nominated for 'Newcomer of the Year' at the Irish Book Awards. Among other publications, his work has appeared in The Stinging Fly, Southword, Granta, Winter Papers, The Dublin Review, Tate Etc, The Guardian, The Irish Times, Architecture Ireland and The Big Issue. Since December 2018, he has been editor of The Stinging Fly magazine.
